Project Brief
Context
GMR Group is one of India's largest infrastructure conglomerates, operating Delhi International Airport. Their L&D team adopted Open edX to power internal training and needed structured enablement to own and operate the platform independently.
The airport's L&D team needed to move from platform dependency to operational ownership — able to build and publish courses, manage their learner base, handle administration, and operate their Tutor-based deployment without relying on external support for routine tasks.
Highlights
Process
Execution flow from design to launch readiness.
Multi-round structured, hands-on Open edX training sessions for the Delhi International Airport L&D team
Open edX Studio (CMS) training — course creation, content organization, unit building, and publishing
Learner enrollment, cohort management, and learner base administration
LMS navigation from the learner perspective — enabling administrators to diagnose and support staff effectively
Platform administration — user management, access controls, and site configuration
Tutor-based Open edX deployment training for in-house environment management
Engineering
Engineering approach used to deliver reliability and performance.
Designed training sessions around the specific operational context of an airport L&D team — focusing on the workflows and tasks they would own day-to-day, not generic platform walkthroughs
Covered Open edX Studio end-to-end — structuring courses, creating and organizing units, managing course settings, and publishing content for live learners
Trained the team on enrollment workflows, cohort management, and keeping a live learner base organized and progressing through content correctly
Walked administrators through the full learner experience so they could confidently diagnose issues and support staff navigating the platform
Covered core administrative functions — user roles, access controls, and the day-to-day tasks that keep the platform running smoothly across an enterprise deployment
Trained staff on Tutor — the modern Docker-based deployment tool for Open edX — giving them foundational knowledge to manage their own environment and handle basic operational tasks without external dependency
